Anime Review: Shingeki no Bahamut:Genesis

"Look at my eyes! Are these the eyes of a liar?" -Favaro Leone (Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis)

This week's anime review is based on Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis, or also well known as Rage of Bahamut: Genesis. With a total of 12 episodes, this anime falls under action, adventure, demons, fantasy, magic, and supernatural for genre. There's a lot of action and cool characters. I really enjoyed watching this anime which I finished in less than 5 days. I recommend others to view Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis, I'm sure it'll be worthwhile. Here's a link that'll take you to watch the entire 12 episodes if you're interested ⇨shingeki-no-bahamut-genesis. Enjoy!

Synopsis: Background (according to Wikipedia)..."Mistarcia is a magical world where humans, gods, and demons mingle together. In the past, the black-and-silver winged Bahamut had threatened to destroy the land, but humans, gods, and demons overcame their differences to fight together and sealed its power. The key to that seal was split in two, one half given to the gods and the other to demons, so that they would never be united and Bahamut never released."

Either way, Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis tells the story of the bounty hunters Favaro Leon and Kaisar Lidfard. However one day, their lives are thrown into havoc when they meet Amira, a mysterious girl who’s actually a one-winged demon that stole half of the key that maintains the seal. They find themselves in an epic journey encountering more demons, angels, gods, a holy knight, and a situation where the peace of earth could be once again devastated into ruin and chaos by the almighty Bahamut.

Characters: There are several important characters for this anime. Those include the ones as shown in the image below...

Art/Animation: I absolutely loved the art and character designs for this anime. The thing that made me want to watch this anime the most was definitely the cool and enthralling effects. The dazzling lights, the glowing eyes, the battle scenes filled with excitement. There's also the dramatic music that intensifies it even more. That's what I enjoyed the most. Furthermore, the animation was beyond expectation in my opinion. I really enjoyed this anime till the very end.

Some of my favorite scenes includes the part of Amira's transformation when fighting against a demon. The fighting was the best part because she totally defeated it, no effort whatsoever.

There's also the part of Jeanne's tranformation where she's turned into a demon. Go this link to view it ⇨Jeanne's Tranformation

Also, just look at the beautiful artwork and amazing detail added to this fallen angel...FYI, it's Lucifer.

Music: The music was pretty good. The opening and ending stayed pretty consistent throughout the entire anime. The opening was pretty intense and the ending was calm and relaxing. They were the total opposite if I do say so myself. That's that for the music part

Anime Review: Ao Haru Ride

"Whenever our eyes met, we would definitely look away for a moment, and then look at each other again." -Yoshioka Futaba (Ao Haru Ride)

Image result for futaba yoshioka gif

This week's anime review is based on Ao Haru Ride or in other words, Blue Spring Ride. This is a cute and loving story for those who love romance. This anime also has a bit of comedy and drama as well and the story is well developed. A must watch for those who watch this type of anime genre. In addition, there's a complete total of 13 episodes and there's also the manga if you prefer to read it instead. Either way, enjoy this week's anime review.

Synopsis:This anime basically revolves around 17 year-old Futaba Yoshioka, a high school student who used to be pretty attractive and popular with the guys in middle school. However, many girls despised this fact. Due to her inferiority complex, she tried to change in a way that doesn't get her too much attention so she acts less feminine per say or in others words, less cute. This way, she tends to stand out a bit more like a tomboy. But before changing that way, she had a classmate named Kou Tanaka who she met one day under the rain and developed a mutual love for. Several things happen and fast story short, he disappears out of sight. Now in high school, she unexpectedly meets Kou again but under a different last name which is Mabuchi. But his character also changed as he is more cold and rude.

Art/Animation: I think that the art displayed for this anime is amazing. I really liked it a lot and the color scheme was perfect. I also liked the character designs. I believe that each character was individually well developed. The whole anime gave off this cutesy vibe as there were some scenes that had sparkles and this light aura in the background. As for the animation, no problems here. I thought this whole anime was great. I loved it when I first watched it and I still re-watch it till this day. I've also read the manga and there's some good stuff there because the anime stops at a certain point and doesn't complete the whole story. So I recommend doing both.

Here are some funny clips that I though were pretty fun to watch...

Music/Op/Ed: Another thing that I enjoyed about this anime was the opening and the song with it. It was very up to beat and cheerful and happy and so full of joy. Well it is in my opinion. It was very colorful and it was very enthralling. As for the ending, it was also pretty good. It kinda goes for a more mellow tune all was good.

Overall, this concludes this week's anime review. Tune in next time.

Anime Review: Shirobako

"There is no occupation that doesn't have its difficulties. That's why the rest is how much you're able to endure after all of the humiliation you face." -Ogasawara Rinko (Shirobako)

This week's anime review is based on Shirobako, a cute anime with only 1 season (24 episodes) that basically revolves around anime production which is pretty cool. It displays a lot realism as to how anime is made and the different processes that it undergoes before being displayed for the public to watch. It's a very vibrant and unique anime about slice-of-life. Either way, enjoy this week's review.

(COVER)
Image result for shirobako
Synopsis: A brief summary of Shirobako is that it’s about five girls named Aoi, Ema, Shizuka, Misa, and Midori who all dreamed of becoming pros in the animation production once they all graduated from high school in order to fulfill a promise they all made which was to reunite and make a real animated series of their own a professionals. However, they all soonly realize that the animation industry is a bit tougher than what they had imagined it to be.
Story/Characters: I thought that the story was well-written in my own personal opinion. There were some times where I thought there was a flat storyline within some of the episodes and sometimes the pacing would go a bit too fast when everything started to change afterwards. However, the story for this anime was quite interesting and it kept me so fascinated as I watched through all 24 episodes because I have never seen an anime about how make anime, knowing this fact kept my interest in Shirobako because I’m not the type who is very much into watching slice-of-life anime.

The characters for this anime were quite a lot. To be honest, I couldn't really memorize all the names for these characters and it made it kinda hard for me to know who was who. I did manage to catch on to a few of those characters, mainly the main ones. Some of those characters seemed unnecessary for this anime and sometimes I felt like they just threw some of them in there. Overall, I really liked some of the characters displayed such as the director. The image on the bottom include all the characters for this anime. If you want to learn a bit more about them, click this link⇨Shirobako-characters
Image result for shirobako characters

Animation/Art: I really felt that the character designs and the background art along with the animation techniques used for Shirobako were great and it really suited the anime. I personally really liked the way the art was conveyed throughout the whole series and how it could sometimes set the overall mood. I also liked how nicely made the characters were as well because in my opinion, I adored the character designs. The details made in every episode and in every character deserve an applause because after watching this anime, I realised how time consuming and difficult it is to draw something like that and also how hard it could be to finally make those drawings move for the real thing and the different procedures taken to get the job done. I am really impressed by how the art presented in all the images shown conveyed a realistic feeling or setting of the story. It was very lively and colorful too.

There were several scenes that I really liked mainly because they were funny. They're mostly about the director because he's weird, but in a good way. For one of the scenes, where he confronts this guy who tries to stop him from meeting the writer for the anime he was gonna produce. At the same time, he's also dressed somewhat like a cowboy and the actions that follow made me laugh a lot.

There's also the one where he's in a maid costume for some reason which I forgot.
Image result for shirobako funny gif
The last one is where he's  magically flying. (I also forgot the reason why)

Image result for shirobako funny gif

There's more where that came from. Like a ton of other funny ones. You should give it a try.
Music/OP/ED: The music played in the opening and ending songs were really energetic, happy, and up-to-beat. I think that the music chosen conveyed a feeling of what the anime will be like and it set a really good mood and tone. In other words, Shirobako was going to be a very interesting and positive series. My views of the opening is that at first, I really enjoyed them because sometimes they give hints about what to be expecting to come out later in the anime but soon after I grew bored after watching them for so long. As for the ending, it was really good because as we were nearing the final episodes, the ending would always change in a way, not by song but by the illustrations shown. I'm a person who usually skips the opening and ending but I realized that it is very important and interesting to watch them.

Overall, this concludes this anime review. Tune in next time.

Anime Review: Attack on Titan

"If you win, you live. If you lose, you die. If you don't fight, you can't win." -Eren Jaeger (Attack on Titan)

Image result for eren jaeger gif

This week's anime review will be based on Attack on Titan which is pretty popular. If you're someone who loves watching anime, then you must be fully aware that a second season for this series has aired just a couple of days back with a stunning first episode. Either way, its first season had 21 episodes and the genre mostly falls under dark fantasy and post-apocalyptic fiction in a way. A must watch anime. Hopefully you like it and I suggest giving it a try.

Synopsis: In this series, humanity is on the brink of extinction so they decided to construct 3 massive walls: Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sheena, to keep out their predator. In other words, the “Titans” which are huge mindless monsters that only devour humans as their sole purpose. After 100 years of peace,  a colossal giant appears out of mid air and destroys the outer wall which leads to smaller titans infiltrating the inside and eating all the villagers in sight as some flee to the other inner walls.

This anime basically revolves around a boy named Eren Jaeger and it just so happens to be that his mother gets eaten by a titan as he watched in horror after not being able to do anything.

Ever since that day he has vowed to eradicate every single one of them. Fast forward a couple of years and he joins the military police along with Mikasa who is his foster sister and Armin who’s his childhood friend. They meet several others along the way and experience several events that changed their lives completely. Go to this link for a better overview of the plot and setting⇨AOT

Characters: There are several characters for this anime. Some of which happen to die along the way. Judging by the picture below, you can already tell which ones are dead (*the ones with halos!!!)⇦in case you couldn't tell. If you want to learn more about each indivual, click this link⇨ AOT Characters or visit this site⇨Attack_on_Titan_Wiki (just click on it)

For this anime, I have 3 favorite characters. Of course, one of them is Eren Yaeger. I love his will for revenge and how he's very determined to meet his goal. I admire that and he can also be very loving in my opinion. In AOT, there's some parts where things go wrong and instead of telling you, I'll just say that he hasn't done anything wrong. (*watch it and it will make so much more sense!) Also, he can turn into a titan which I thought was pretty cool. He doesn't devour humans, in fact he kills titans.

                         Image result for eren jaeger

My other favorite character is Mikasa Ackerman. I really love her personality and how she's really attached to Eren. She can have a cold and serious look but she's pretty amazing as a female character.

                                           Related image

My third favorite character is Levi. He may be short but he does pack a punch. He's one of the best characters there is and he has a cool personality to him even though he may give off a bad vibe. He's actually nice at heart...you just can't tell much.

Image result for levi attack on titan

Art/Animation: Well, I really liked the art concept and the very detailed scenery that was used in this anime. Sometimes the mood would change from a happy feeling when laying on the hills to a horrific feeling when the town is under siege. The character designs were great too. What I like the most was the animation. The 3-D maneuver gear and how the characters used them to move about was enthralling. The actions was pretty intense and filled with excitement and exhilaration in every second.

Image result for attack on titan gif

I have a couple of favorite scenes that I thought were awesome. One of them include the part where Eren is in his titan form and he takes on a titan. Unlike the rest of them, Eren is still somewhat in control and is not as dumb as the normal titans. The way he uses his combat skills was unexpected but radical.

Image result for attack on titan gif

More of him engaging in battles with other titans...

I guess there's too many scenes to name that I like, but I enjoy watching Levi taking action. The gif below is him taking on the female titan. I like how he does the flashy spinning thing.

                Related image

I also enjoy watching Mikasa take on the titans in her own way.

                      Image result for mikasa gif

*the scenes with the female titan are sometime to behold...

Music: The music is a major factor that makes this anime great. The opening song for the first season is very popular and it's the best. I don't know how to describe it but it tends to get to the point where you start to sing along somewhere along the way. The second opening song was okay but I liked the first one much more. In addition, I just want to come out and say it, but the opening for the second season is pretty good. In fact,I like it very much. The endings were good, but openings are better.

This concludes this week's anime review. Hopefully you've taken a liking and might consider trying it out. Besides that, tune in next time.

Anime Review: Gangsta

“It’s not always the tears that measure pain, sometimes it is the smile we fake.” -Nicolas Brown (Gangsta)

Related image

This week's anime review is based on Gangsta. This anime series came out in the year 2015 and the genre involves some action, crime, and drama. It's a pretty short series with 1 season and a total of 13 episodes. To be honest, I feel like they should make a second season because they totally left me at a cliff hanger in the last episode. I was like...table flip! No lie. But seriously, the makers of Gangsta need to make another season. They have a manga for this, but I haven't read it..."yet". It's not enough to satisfy me though. Either way, hopefully you get to learn a bit about this anime and probably get interested enough to watch it or read it.

                                            (COVER)
                            Related image

Synopsis: This series basically revolves around two men who are referred to as “Handymen” who are hired to take on jobs that normal people can’t really handle or take on. Their names are Nicolas Brown and Worick Arcangelo. The action takes place in a town called Ergastulum and it is no ordinary town. Unlike the rest, Ergastulum is a place filled with people who work with the mafia, some are prostitutes or hoodlums, and you can’t rule out the cops. Also, you’ve got what they call “Twilights”, in other words super-humans who are ranked using dog tags that basically measures their strength. Nicolas is a Twilight in this series. Worick is just a normal human. Later on, a new threat rises that hunts down these so called Twilights in a fierce battle that can’t be avoided. This challenge creates for a whole bloodbath of carnage for the city and its people. A must watch anime that you just can’t resist.

Characters: There are many characters for this anime. The picture in the bottom are basically the main ones. Of course there are plenty more and if you want to learn more about each individual, I suggest clicking this link ⇨Gangsta Characters.... (it'll help)
Image result for gangsta anime characters

My favorite character out of the whole series is Nicolas Brown. What makes him so unique out of all the others is that he is deaf and uses sign language to communicate which is something that I've never seen in other anime. He can talk a bit but it's not prefect. To me, I really like his character and personality. He also has a cool vibe and he's pretty awesome too. My second favorite would have to be Worick.

Image result for gangsta anime nicolas signing gif

Art/Animation: I thought that the art style was different and unique. I enjoyed that dark and gloomy feel it gave off while I was watching this anime. Not a lot of color. Most of the colors that you'll usually notice the most is gray, black, and white. It wasn't bad, it makes sense if you put the pieces all together and consider the fact that this anime is about crime and killing. As for the animation, I liked it and I enjoyed the way that sign language was incorporated as well. It was interesting and fun to watch in my opinion. The characters designs were great too.

I have several scenes that I favor the most and find excitement in watching. One of them include the part where Nicolas shows off his tags during a battle which is what Twilights usually do to demonstrate their strength and to see who's stronger.

Image result for gangsta anime nicolas gif

Another of my favorite scenes is when Nicolas kicks Chad's car which I thought was pretty cool.

Image result for nicolas brown kicks car gif

There were some sad parts such as when Worick and Nicolas were both little kids and in this scene, Worick's father decides to punish him and since Nicolas was somewhat like a slave and not really considered human back in those days, stood by and watched. You should definitely see this part. It gets intense, (*spoiler) Nicolas kills Worick's father and then his mom and I think his brother (not sure) after receiving an order from him, his "master". Worick ends up losing his eye from the cigar burn and Nicolas took it out which is later shown (hense how he got the eye patch) Very emotional!!!

Image result for worick gif

As for this last scene, it just demonstrates Nicolas' battle skills during his youthful days as a kid; he was only used in combat since he was a Twilight.

Image result for nicolas kills worrick's dad gif

Music: The opening was pretty great. I was really fond of the opening song. It was up to beat and it got me moving and getting to the groove of things. I liked listening to it. On the other hand, the ending song was the total opposite. It was more mellow and calm. It sounded somewhat sad and changed the whole mood. Very different from the opening song. If I were to choose which one was my favorite, it would have to be the opening.

Overall, this concludes this week's anime review and I really hope that you take a look and consider watching this anime or read the manga. Tune in next time!
