Revolving around Anime

"We are all like fireworks, rising, shinning, scattering, and finally fading." -Toshiro Hitsugaya (Bleach)

When I was a small kid, I wasn't as into anime as I am now, but gradually over the years as I grew older, I was exposed to it a lot more. So the more anime I watched, the more was I into it. As of now, the current me is a major anime fan.

I spend much of my time as I can to solely watch some anime, especially when I'm on break. Entering high school, managing my time became much more difficult because I hardly ever have the time to take a moment for myself since I'm always busy with homework or projects. When I would be done with my homework or project per say, it would already be late so I'd end up watching my anime until 1 or 2 am in the morning.

In my daily life, I try to incorporate some things or ideas that I've seen in the anime that I tend to see. You could say that I've grown quite attached to Japanese Pop Culture which is actually true. Ever so recently have I bought myself some good quality chopsticks to practice with so I can get the hang of it and experience what it's like to eat something without using a fork or a spoon. I've also practiced table manners and what's acceptable and what I should do when I go to Japan which is a dream of mine. In my opinion, Japan is my homeland and I would love to travel there once I'm old enough.

In addition, I've also been studying and practicing some Japanese. So far, I've got several words and phrases down that I could use. Some of those I learned from reading and listening to the subtitles in that language. To be honest, I think that Japanese is much easier for me to learn than some of the other languages. Sometimes when I try to speak Japanese, my family likes to mess with me and tries to copy me by going with the flow and speaking what may sound like Japanese even though it's just a bunch of random words that make no sense whatsoever.

Furthermore, anime is a huge part of my life. As a teen, I love collecting anime merchandise, cosplaying as certain characters and reading manga. The one thing that I haven't experienced is going to a convention. Hopefully, if I'm lucky, I would like to go to one and be involved in it because it looks like a lot of fun and it seems quite interesting.

Anime Obsession (Part 2)

"If you place yourself somewhere close to raw emotions, where you're exposed to violence and death, instinct and desire, you can brush against man's true nature. I thought that way I could find a reason to live somehow." -Dazai Osamu (Bungou Stray Dogs)

After YOI (Yuri!!! on Ice) ended, I wasn't sure what to do or watch since I've spent so much of my time on this anime. I decided to do some research and find out what most anime fans are into and see if there were any suggestions or recommendations that  could have helped me in my selection of new anime to dedicate my time with. Turns out that I ended up finding several anime that I knew but never gave it much thought before because I just skipped it.

Going over those anime, I only selected 3 from the suggestions I've seen. Those include Shokugeki no Souma, Bungou Stray Dogs, and Mob Psycho 100. To be honest, I wouldn't have bothered watching these anime but it peeked my interest after witnessing the 1st episode for each of these anime. They all have a different story to tell and that's what makes it exciting because there's so much diversity that's there's no point in ever getting bored.

Furthermore, here's a bit of background information for these three anime and why I decided to go with it....

  1. Shokugeki no Souma: This anime is basically all about cooking or in other words, cooking wars to be more exact and according to Wkipedia, "Shokugeki no Soma tells the story of a boy named Sōma Yukihira, whose dream is to become a full-time chef in his father's neighborhood restaurant and surpass his father's culinary skills. But just as Sōma graduates from middle school, his father, Jōichirō Yukihira, gets a new job that requires him to travel around the world and closes his shop. However, Sōma's fighting spirit is rekindled by a challenge from Jōichirō which is to survive in an elite culinary school where only 1% of the students manage to graduate, where he meets many amazing students and experiences new events that allow him to grow further towards his cooking goal."  (Follow this link for more information) →Shokugeki_no_Soma← So my reason for choosing this is that I thought it would be nice to explore an anime about cooking. It was a lot better than what I thought it would. I honestly fell in love with the main character because I liked the way he was portrayed in this anime. Overall, I'm glad that I gave this series a chance.
  2. Bunjou Stray Dogs: This anime is mainly about certain individuals having super powers in a sense, fighting against the Mafia, solving cases, and much more. According to Wikipedia, "The story centers on individuals who are gifted with super natural powers and use them for different purposes including holding a business, solving mysteries, and carrying out missions assigned by the mafia. The story mainly follows the members of the "Armed Detective Agency" and their everyday lives." (Follow this link for more information)→Bungo_Stray_Dogs← My reason for choosing this is that I thought it looked really cool. This anime kind of hit me by surprise because I wasn't expecting to be so enthralled with this. The more I saw, the more I fell in for this anime. One of my favorite characters was and still is, Dazai Osamu. Overall, I would say that this anime was amazing and that it definitely needs a 3rd season.
  3. Mob Psycho 100: This anime is still a bit new to me so the only thing I could say about this is that it's about exorcising spirits in a way by this kid named Mob. Anyways, according to Wikipedia," Shigeo Kageyama is an average middle school boy, called Mob (モブ means background character) for lacking a sense of presence. Although he seems like an inconspicuous person, he is in fact a powerful Esper. As he grows older, Mob realizes his psychic powers are dangerous. To avoid his power getting out of control, he constantly lives a life under emotional shackle. Mob wants to live just like others, but a barrage of trouble comes to him. With the suppressed emotions growing inside Mob little by little, his power threatens to spill over its bounds." (Follow this link for more information)→Mob_Psycho_100← I decided to go ahead and watch this anime because it looked pretty action-packed and interesting.
In the end, that's all I have to say for today.

Anime for LIFE?

“As long as you're alive...As long as you're running...You've got to give it everything you've got, or you'll have nothing left. I allowed myself to be satisfied with just having fun in the moment. But if you don't hold on to what you have, everything will be gone in an instant.” -Kazama Jin (Days)

There has been one thing that has been kept in the back of my mind for quite some time. I've been thinking and thinking about it for so long that I'm going to explain what it is. My only reason for me bringing it up is that it might relate to some people as well, or maybe not and it's just me. Either way, I've been pondering whether or not I'll continue to watch anime for life. In other words, until I'm an adult and possibly until I grow old and die. The answer is “YES!!!”. It was pretty obvious because there is no way for me to stop watching anime. I've become so attached to it that I'm just going to stick with it and I'm not complaining or anything. I even picture myself in the future still watching anime. It was quite a laugh, but I'm okay with it. I would like to actually continue watching anime despite my age. I'd probably be living by myself, lying on my bed in a dark lit room, eating a bunch of snacks and watching anime on my phone while excluding the outside world from interfering with my personal fantasy land on a daily basis. Now that I think about it, I already do all of this except that I don't live all by myself...yet.

I also prefer to not watch anything else except for a few shows that keep within my interests. Since we don't really have cable in my house, I had to stick with watching qubo or ion life. There really wasn't a lot of options to choose from to watch during my free time, so I stuck to getting an app on my phone that lets me watch all the anime I want for free. I ended up sticking with it ever since for the past 6 years almost 7.

I've also been wondering that there's so much anime to watch that's it's most likely impossible for me to watch all of them and there's also new series that keep airing each year. The only good outcome is that there's always something interesting to see that fits within your favorite genres or specific type. I always find something to keep me entertained so I never grow bored. I'm quite pleased because of it and that's about it.

New Seasons???

"No matter what kind of wisdom dictates you the option you should pick, no one will be able to tell if it's right or wrong till you arrive to some sort of outcome, resulting from your choice. The only thing we are allowed to do is believe that we won't regret the choice we made." - Caption Levi (Attack on Titan)

New year, new seasons. It seems that 2017 will bring us all new anime seasons to fill up that emptiness that was left within our tiny hearts that needs to be filled in. More or less, I'm just guessing that by now, some of us already know that there are upcoming second seasons for several anime that kept us kinda hanging and wanting for more. In this new year and age, that time has come. Well not necessarily since it hasn't aired yet, but we're getting there. No worries.

Specifically, I just want to go over those anime that will be getting a second season. JUST THOSE ANIME, nothing more. It would be too much if I went over everything that will be airing this year from movies to ovas. BUT....I'll only be going over the anime that I'm more interested in which will be airing this year.
  1. Attack on Titan Season 2: Spring of 2017 is when this will be aired. It was about time that this anime gets a second season after leaving us questioning the ending. Also, not so long ago was the trailer aired for the whole world to see which has probably raised some quite the commotion. This new season will bring us new characters and new abnormal titans, especially that hairy/furry looking one. Overall, I can't wait for the new episodes to come out.
  2. One Punch Man 2: It has been confirmed that this anime will be having a season 2. I personally am pretty excited because One Punch Man is a really interesting and fun anime to watch. It was about time that this anime gets another season because of all those red flags it raised during the last few episodes from the first season that kept us a bit anxious and on the edge of exploding.
  3. Boku no Hero Academia 2nd season: Also airing this Spring in 2017 and will be continuing from the previous season.
  4. The Seven Deadly Sins Season 2: It has also been confirmed that this anime will also be getting a second season that will probably bring us to our knees if you're someone who is a big fan of this anime because there might be some plot twists and a change of events that will have us stunned yet amazed
  5. Super Lovers 2: Airing this year, a second season of this anime will also be brought out that will be branching off where it left us hanging and it will continue from there on out.
In the end, all I can say it that I'm really exhilarated for this new year and that I can't wait for these new seasons to come out so I can watch them all.
